# Markdown and llms.txt

Every page on signo's website has a version written for agents: the same content as Markdown, without navigation or styling.

| You want | Ask for |
|---|---|
| A page as Markdown | its path plus `.md`, such as `/docs/quickstart.md` or `/trust.md`; the home page is `/index.md` |
| The same, from the page's own address | the page with `Accept: text/markdown` |
| An index of the docs | `/llms.txt` |
| All the docs in one file | `/llms-full.txt` |
| To see what agents see, in a browser | the **Agent** button at the top of any page, which adds `?view=agent` |

Responses that depend on `Accept` carry `Vary: Accept`. HTML pages point to their Markdown with `<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">` and a matching `Link` header. Links inside the Markdown are absolute, and links between docs point at their Markdown versions, so an agent can follow them without parsing HTML.

## A prompt for your coding agent

Paste this into any coding agent that can read a web page:

> Replace "Sign in with Google" in this app with signo. Read https://usesigno.co.uk/llms.txt, then follow the guide for this app's auth library. I'll add the site at https://usesigno.co.uk/account/sites and put the client ID and secret in .env myself; don't ask me to paste the secret into chat.

The home page's "Copy prompt" button copies the same prompt, with the address of the copy of signo you are on.
